We all need to take a break from the market, trading and even Crypto (even though it trades 24/7)!!
What better way to unwind than to grab some popcorn or your favorite snack, relax, unwind and put your feet up? Sounds fantastic to me.
This recommendation comes from my brother, Andre, who has a Bachelors from Dodge College in Film and Media Arts and has been a Producer for multiple films and even had a short film that was in contention for Best Short Film in multiple film festivals. So when my brother sends me a message saying have you seen this shows, my ears perk up and my popcorn is ready!
The Show, called Startup, is about a desperate banker, a Haitian-American gang lord and a Cuban-American hacker that are forced to work together to unwittingly create their version of the American dream - what the viewers are calling 'organized crime 2.0'. It's a crime and techno-thriller based drama where the characters from middle to lower class backgrounds are forced to come together to build their idea of the American Dream.
Based in Miami, the three characters Nick Talman (played by Adam Brody), Ronald Dacey (played by Edi Gathegi) and Izzy Morales (played by Otmara Marrero) come together to create their future of the digital world: Gencoin. Gencoin, a fictional digital currency inspired by Bitcoin, is created by Izzy Morales, a young Cuban-American genius programmer with a background from Stanford. Izzy's idea of the future world is to create a cryptocurrency to offer more stability, security and anonymity than any digital currency out there in that is a currency in and of itself. "It runs off a complex algorithm that took me almost seven years to develop. It predicts, adjusts and adapts to market and political shifts in order to remain stable."
Now back in Miami, she is looking for money to launch the new digital currency, GenCoin. Morales, who also happens to be a talented hacker, is looking for a seed investment (a $100,000) from venture capital to create a viable prototype, in hopes of one day creating a ready-to-market product. As any new startup knows procuring the funds for a new investment, especially for Cryptocurrency in 2016 post the initial Crypto bubble, are especially hard to come by when no banks or funds had even heard of #bitcoin or #crypto.
This is where things start to get interesting, Nick Talman's Dad is on the run from the FBI after dealing in some nefarious activity - money laundering - and now has to give all he has left to his son and flee. Nick Talman, being the smart educated young kid working at one of these V.C. funds sees the potential in Izzy Morales idea where others do not. And Gencoin now has the $100k backing it was lacking to become a real idea!
This twist of fate, like any great entrepreneur has been through, unravels a series of events that keeps you on the edge of your seat during the first season and has you coming back for more in subsequent seasons! If you don't want to make my word for how good the show is I'll just say the IMDB rating is an 8.0/10 and the reviews on YouTube like "Unbelievably good" are off the charts. 'If this show was on Netflix, it would be crashing servers and winning awards.' comments Marcky De Saint in the YouTube reviews, well I have good news for you Marcky, now it is!
We give it an 8.5 out of 10 ⭐️ as it will keep you on the edge of your seat, great dialogue and realistic situations startups might encounter. There is drug use and it can get a violent so it’s recommended for an older audience. So make sure to go check it out and let us know what we should review next!
We hope you like our recommendation and enjoy the show!
Trade confidently,

“Technology is nothing. What's important is you have faith in people, that they're basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they'll do wonderful things with them."
